As a Full-Stack Software Engineer (Level 3 or 4) in our Space Sector, you’ll play a pivotal role in critical national security missions. The Central Region Software Engineering organization in Aurora, CO, comprises over 200 professionals, offering ample opportunities for career growth into technical or leadership roles. The selected candidate will join a team of approximately 35 professionals, primarily working in-person at our Aurora, CO facility. You’ll support development, integration, testing, deployment, and operations/maintenance (O&M) defect resolution in a secure environment, gaining insight into the full software lifecycle and program mission. Responsibilities include proposing improvements in technology, processes, architecture, or tooling, and working with unclassified and classified baselines.
Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack software solutions primarily in Java, supporting critical national security missions.
- Work within Agile Scrum teams led by Product Owners and Scrum Masters in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
- Identify and propose improvements related to technology, processes, architecture, or tooling.
- Support integration, testing, deployment, and O&M defect resolution in a secure facility.
- Familiarize yourself with existing codebases and contribute to their enhancement.
- Develop applications in a containerized architecture using Docker and Kubernetes on Linux/Unix systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other contractors within a larger customer program.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance required at the time of application; ability to obtain and maintain SCI access and Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of software development experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of software development experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- Primary experience developing applications in Java.
- Experience developing applications in a containerized architecture using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience developing applications on a Linux/Unix operating system.
- Experience developing applications using Agile principles, processes, and tools.
- Willingness to work in-person at the Aurora, CO facility.
- Travel required: 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Active SCI clearance at the time of application.
- Prior completed Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
- At least 3 years of experience developing object-oriented applications in Java.
- At least 3 years of experience developing applications on Linux/Unix systems, including proficiency with OS commands and shell scripting.
- At least 1 year of experience developing in environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience within the U.S. Space Industry.
- Experience effectively communicating and presenting technical concepts to program management and customers.
- Experience writing clear, detailed, and effective technical documentation.
- Experience sharing knowledge, providing mentorship, and working in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed software systems.
- Experience with Confluent or other data streaming applications, including Kafka.
- Experience integrating applications using Helm.
- Active Security+ certification (or equivalent).
Pay
- Level 3 Salary Range: $114,000 - $171,000 per year.
- Level 4 Salary Range: $142,200 - $213,400 per year.
Base salary offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
