Responsibilities
- Create interactive user interfaces using various front-end technologies
- Retrieve data from the servers and design a robust back-end architecture based on different technologies
- Create databases and servers that can function continuously and are resistant to disruptions
- Ensure applications work on different platforms by making them cross-platform compatible
- Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest developments in Java and related technologies
- Develop and perform system testing and fix defects identified during testing
- Maintain complex components of information systems
- Perform various database-related operations as per the requirement of the application
- Develop APIs based on the nature of the application
- Perform various types of tests including unit test, regression test, and system test
- Make servers and databases that never crash and operate indefinitely
- Participate in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts
- Provide on-call support and monitor the system
- Facilitate small group design sessions or code reviews and participate in vendor evaluations
Qualifications
- Requires a BA/BS or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and minimum of 1 year experience on one platform
- Strong understanding of core Java concepts such as object-oriented programming, data structures & algorithms
- Experience with popular Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Apache Maven
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript & AngularJS
- Facility with and understanding of the ecosystem that code operates in
- Exposure to basics of cloud development practices (AWS)
