Full Stack Java Developer
About the role
As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and React.js technologies. You will be a valued member of the application development team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams to build high-quality digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and related technologies.
- Build, enhance, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical applications.
- Perform hands-on coding, debugging, testing, code reviews, and application performance optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to offshore development teams by resolving technical challenges and supporting successful delivery.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow best practices for code quality, security, testing, and software development lifecycle processes.
- Contribute to AI chatbot and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) initiatives when applicable.
Work model
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote at a client or Cognizant office in Hopkins, Minnesota or Irving, Texas. Wellbeing programs are available to support a healthy work-life balance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in full stack application development with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and enterprise application development.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java application development using Spring Boot.
- Proven experience developing full-stack applications with React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and code quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and work independently.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with onsite and offshore teams.
Qualifications
- Experience implementing AI Chatbots and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
- Exposure to Generative AI technologies and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments.
- Experience mentoring developers and leading technical discussions.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is $81,337 – $136,500 depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. Discretionary bonuses and other compensation programs may apply based on individual and company performance.
