The position is listed on behalf of a partner company managing all applications and next steps. They are seeking a Full Stack Generative AI Engineer based in the United States.

About the role

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing full-stack applications across the frontend, backend, database, and AI layers. You will also develop modern, responsive user interfaces using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript; develop scalable backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI; design, query, and integrate data using Microsoft SQL Server and other relevant data sources; integrate Generative AI and Large Language Model capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows; develop AI-enabled solutions for information retrieval, summarization, knowledge discovery, question answering, and decision support; collaborate with data scientists, AI professionals, product teams, business partners, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions; and evaluate emerging AI technologies and development practices and recommend approaches that improve application capabilities. You will write clean, maintainable, well-tested code while contributing to sound engineering standards and practices. You will assess the quality, accuracy, and reliability of AI-generated outputs and help improve application performance and usability.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional experience in software engineering or full-stack development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript, including React; experience with Next.js is strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience developing backend services and APIs; FastAPI experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with SQL databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and integrate applications across both frontend and backend technologies.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrating external data sources or services.
  • Practical exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models, or AI-powered application development.
  • Experience with LLM APIs, AI-powered search, question-answering systems, automated summarization, document analysis, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or knowledge bases is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with the ability to approach complex technical challenges methodically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and curiosity, with the ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Experience developing production AI-enabled web applications from concept through deployment is particularly advantageous.
  • Experience with cloud-based application development and exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, scientific data, clinical information, or other regulated environments is preferred but not required.
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related field is a plus.
