About the role

TEKsystems client is seeking a Mid Level Full Stack Engineer to support two core legacy applications in active daily production use. Tool is the client's core web application and Oracle database platform holding approximately 36 million healthcare professional records. DLS is a WPF Windows desktop application used by the team's internal data operations staff to quality‑check state professional license data loads. This is a legacy stack maintenance and support role — over 90 percent of the work is keeping the lights on with minimal new feature development. The confirmed technology stack includes Classic ASP with VBScript, ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC 5 with VB.NET and C# on .NET Framework 4.5–4.6.2, jQuery, Oracle 19c with PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers and views, Redis caching, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. This is not a React, Node, or Python role. Candidates must have verified hands‑on production experience in the legacy stack within the last 5 years. Onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Mount Arlington, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support two production legacy applications (Tool web platform and DLS WPF desktop app).
  • Own features end‑to‑end across the web presentation tier and the Oracle database tier.
  • Modify and extend existing Classic ASP, VBScript, ASP.NET Web Forms, and MVC 5 codebases.
  • Maintain and enhance Oracle 19c PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and views.
  • Work with Redis caching and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide WPF desktop application support for DLS (a plus).
  • Apply AI‑assisted development tools where beneficial (nice to have).

Requirements

  • Mid‑level engineer with verified hands‑on production experience in Classic ASP, VBScript, ASP.NET Web Forms, VB.NET or C# on .NET Framework, Oracle PL/SQL, Redis, and JavaScript/jQuery — all within the last 5 years.
  • Oracle expertise focused on maintaining and modifying existing code (client has in‑house standards and peer‑review practices).
  • Strong ASP.NET and Oracle developer with limited VBScript experience is acceptable for a first‑round conversation.
  • Full‑stack ownership mentality — ability to own features top to bottom across web and database tiers.
  • WPF desktop application experience is a plus for DLS support.
  • Fluency with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) is a nice‑to‑have.
  • Modern full‑stack candidates without deep legacy‑stack experience will not be considered.

  • Classic ASP, VBScript
  • ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC 5, VB.NET, C# (.NET Framework 4.5–4.6.2)

  • Full‑stack development (legacy stack)
