Job Summary
A hybrid Contract to Hire position with a large investment firm in Newark, NJ. A full-stack developer with a focus on React and NodeJS is needed.
About the role
The Retirement Strategies Technology team is dedicated to innovation, speed, agility, scalability, and efficiency. This role involves partnering with various stakeholders to build applications, develop high-quality code, and collaborate on projects that enhance customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Code, test, and debug new and existing applications following coding practices and industry standards
- Collaborate with product owners and tech leads to define feature stories and technical designs
- Write unit, integration tests, and functional automation
- Bring an understanding of emerging technologies and contribute to the team's learning and innovation
- Work on diverse problems involving analysis of data and evaluation of factors
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js (hooks, state management, component-based architecture)
- Solid backend development experience using Node.js (Express/NestJS) and RESTful API design
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript across full stack
- Experience designing and integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda)
- Experience with containerization using Docker and deployment to AWS ECS (or EKS)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments in AWS environments
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (VPC, IAM, load balancing, auto scaling)
- Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL) and query optimization
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch)
