Full Professor (BME Brock Family Chair and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar)

The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology & Emory University invites applications from exceptional senior candidates working in the area of Nanomedicine and Cancer, broadly defined. The successful candidate will be named the Brock Family Chair and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar, an endowed position specific to the Georgia Tech campus. GRA eminent scholars are expected to engage in or contribute to translational and/or economic development efforts in their field.

About the Role

The appointment is expected at the rank of full professor with tenure. The successful candidate will interact with a vibrant and rapidly growing multi-disciplinary community across Georgia Tech, Emory, and greater Atlanta. Examples include the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience (IBB) at Georgia Tech, NCI-designated Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Requirements

• PhD in engineering or related field (required by the start of the appointment).

• Demonstrated strong leadership in building and leading extramurally funded research programs.
• Noteworthy dedication to innovative teaching and mentoring of diverse undergraduate and graduate student bodies.
• National and international recognition.
• Established and active record of accomplishment in leading large multi-institution and multi-disciplinary collaborative research efforts.
• Vision for developing the next generation of therapeutic approaches in cancer research.
