Full or Part time Dining room supervisor

Summary of Position

The Dining Room Supervisor plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community, and creating a place where our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure a quality dining experience by greeting and seating residents and guests, overseeing dining room staff, and maintaining a pleasant and clean dining environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the daily operations of the dining room.
• Ensures smooth and timely opening of the dining room, including facilitating the pre-meal meeting.
• Captures and coordinates staffing schedules to meet daily staffing requirements.
• Sets staff for designated sections and appropriate side work.
• Inspects cleaning and closing of the dining room.
• Supervises special functions.
• Greet and seat residents and guests.
• Ensures consistently high-quality customer service in the dining room.
• Ensures appropriate check control and resident charge procedures.
• Maintains a clean and professional work environment.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills

• Make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
• Work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Communicate in a manner sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.

Education and Experience

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some supervisory experience in food service preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position may have direct reports or supervisory requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
• Frequent lifting/carrying of 30 lbs., occasional lifting/carrying of 50 lbs.
• Frequent pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs., occasional pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Bending/twisting/stooping
• Reaching at or below the shoulder
• Frequent standing/walking

Cognitive Requirements

• Executes tasks independently.
• Expresses oneself clearly and effectively.

Environmental Requirements

• Moderate noise level
