About the role
As a member of the Orthopaedics Sales Team, the Associate Sales Representative (ASR) will work with the team within an assigned territory and hospital accounts. Within these accounts, the ASR will assist in scheduling operative cases, securing inventory for those cases, observing, and consulting the surgical team on Smith Nephew instrumentation and implants, and completing the logistical requirements associated with those cases.
Responsibilities
- Assist in scheduling operative cases
- Secure inventory for operative cases
- Observe and consult the surgical team on Smith Nephew instrumentation and implants
- Complete logistical requirements associated with operative cases
- Build rapport with surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), hospital staff, and co-workers to enhance access to customers in the territory and region
- Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet/exceed quota
- Collaborate with teammates to take strategic responsibility for the area, work with customers to deliver the best solutions for patients, and provide first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of professional sales experience
- Valid driver’s license applicable to current residence to facilitate travel requirements of position

- Ability to assimilate and learn a high level of technical information as it relates to surgery and procedures
- Self-motivated salesperson committed to driving the business forward by taking strategic responsibility for the area, working with customers to deliver the best solutions for patients, and providing first-class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs
- Resourceful consultant who will work relentlessly to become proficient in joint reconstruction
- Team-oriented, highly attentive to detail, and flexible to work untraditional hours to best support the salesforce and customers
Skills
- Technical expertise in the Orthopaedics portfolio through structured trainings and assessments
- Strong relationship-building skills with surgeons, KOLs, hospital staff, and co-workers
- Effective territory business planning and revenue generation
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work untraditional hours and travel within the designated sales territory
