About the role
Under the direction of an assigned administrator, organize and implement services for pupils with severe vision impairments including assessment of pupils' functional vision; evaluate and recommend appropriate assistive technology and modified reading materials for pupil's use; instruct pupils in skills necessary to utilize recommended assistive technology and skills unique to impaired vision; collaborate with teachers, parents, other support personnel and administrators to facilitate inclusion of pupils in the least restrictive learning environment.
Responsibilities

Requirements / Qualifications
- Copy of valid California Education Specialist Instruction credential authorizing service as a teacher of the visually impaired OR appropriate intern-eligible letter from college/university, clearly stating what applicant is eligible for.
- Copy of CLAD certification or English Learner Authorization
- Transcripts
- AB 2534: All previous certificated employment must be listed. List each district, including substitute teaching experience.
- (Special note: Copies of credentials should include the name of the credential, credential details, authorizations, and expiration date. You may obtain a copy from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website at www.ctc.ca.gov.)
