Fulfillment Team Lead

We are on the lookout for a Fulfillment Team Lead in Houston, Texas who shares our passion for being Customer Obsessed. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in being responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and effective receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. This role involves leading a team of warehouse associates, coordinating activities, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in logistics or warehouse management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Role Details
Salary Range: $19 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
Location: Milner Road, Houston
This is a 7 month fixed term position starting at the end of July with potential to become permanent. You will be eligible to time off and health benefits during this fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of warehouse associates;
- Train new employees on company standards and procedures;
- Assign tasks and responsibilities, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity;
- Receiving and storing inventory delivered to the warehouse;
- Staging and sorting of items, palletizing, and crating;
- Provide regular reports on warehouse performance and key metrics (SLAs) to the operations leadership;
- Use of tools including but not limited to scanners, carts, hand trucks and dollies;
- Follow all 5S processes consistently and effectively;
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback;
- Ensure accurate inventory management, including stock counts and reconciliations;
- Implement and maintain warehouse processes and procedures to maximize efficiency;
- Enforce safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment;
- Address and resolve any issues related to damaged or missing goods;
- Liaise with other departments, such as procurement, account management, and customer service, to coordinate activities and resolve issues;
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
Qualifications
- 2+ years in a warehouse/fulfillment environment;
- 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead position;
- Strong leadership and team management skills;
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities;
- Proficient in warehouse management software and the Google Suite;
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs);
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking;
