About the role
The BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) Fulfillment Outfitter plays a key role in improving the shopping experience for customers by accessing inventory across all retail locations. This position involves filling BOSS orders, sorting, picking, packing, and loading merchandise for shipment to direct customers and retail stores while ensuring quality and appearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform multiple functions in the back room, including receiving, inspecting, and fulfilling orders.
- Sort and pack merchandise into appropriate containers for shipment, applying labels and inspecting product quality.
- Fill retail and direct customer orders by matching merchandise to order details and pulling stock from designated locations.
- Move merchandise between warehouse locations using material handling equipment (e.g., stock pickers, lift trucks) or manually load/unload trailers.
- Maintain housekeeping, cleanliness, and a safe work environment.
- Attend mandatory training, including new employee orientation, safety, and job skills training.
- Assist customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions when on the sales floor.
- Communicate issues affecting job execution, such as short picks, out-of-stock items, inventory counts, and supply needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to follow through on order processing, including closing orders in the BOSS system.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to read label descriptions and stock merchandise by UPC codes.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds with team assistance.
- Constantly stand and/or walk during shifts.
- Constantly repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Occasionally communicate with others to exchange information.
- Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
- Occasionally work in tight or confined spaces, low or high temperatures, outdoor elements (e.g., precipitation, wind), or noisy environments.
- Light work involving constant movement and lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
