About the role

The Fueler/Service Employee is responsible for performing basic vehicle servicing duties at WMATA location. Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles - interior and exterior
• Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles
• Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log and record all fluids
• Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years
• Customer service-oriented and dedicated to safety
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable

Physical Demands

• 10% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
• 90% of work is accomplished outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions
• Frequent standing and walking
• Ability to sit for up to three hours
• Walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Ability to lift or handle material weighing up to 50 to 75 lbs. without assistance
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
• Verbal communication
• Exposure to heavy traffic areas
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
• Exposure to cleaning solutions, oils, and other liquids
• Must be able to travel for company training, meetings, or support missions
