Position Summary
Essential Functions
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance, repairs and adjustments on a variety of fuel pumps and dispensing equipment.
- Take inventory of fuels, order and receive fuel, lubricants and supply deliveries; maintain all appropriate fuel station records.
- Monitor fuel, diesel exhaust fluids and lubricant usage; grease and lubricate fuel station pumps and equipment.
- Perform general custodial duties; maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
Supplemental Functions
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year general equipment or automotive maintenance experience preferred.
- Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
- Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
- When Assigned To General Services Department: Class C Fuel Operator Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
- Forklift Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
Physical Requirements
- Maintain physical condition necessary for heavy, moderate or light lifting and carrying;
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, pulling, crawling;
- Standing for prolonged periods;
- Operating motorized equipment.
Environmental Conditions
- Environmental Shop environment;
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases and outside climate.
