Fuel Station Technician

Position Summary

Essential Functions

• Inspect and perform minor maintenance, repairs and adjustments on a variety of fuel pumps and dispensing equipment.
• Take inventory of fuels, order and receive fuel, lubricants and supply deliveries; maintain all appropriate fuel station records.
• Monitor fuel, diesel exhaust fluids and lubricant usage; grease and lubricate fuel station pumps and equipment.
• Perform general custodial duties; maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.

Supplemental Functions

• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One (1) year general equipment or automotive maintenance experience preferred.
• Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
• Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
• When Assigned To General Services Department: Class C Fuel Operator Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
• Forklift Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.

Physical Requirements

• Maintain physical condition necessary for heavy, moderate or light lifting and carrying;
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, pulling, crawling;
• Standing for prolonged periods;
• Operating motorized equipment.

Environmental Conditions

• Environmental Shop environment;
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases and outside climate.
