Fuel Farm Machinist Lead

About the role

Location: Arnold AFB, TN. Position Type: Regular Full-Time. Pay Grade: A24 (Wage). The selected candidate will support the TOS II contract at Arnold Air Force Base as part of an integrated team responsible for United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Must be available to work any shift; shift assignment will be determined based on work priority at time of clearance.

The successful candidate will assist Fuels Management with the daily operation of the fuels section and assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains fuel storage and distribution systems and equipment
• Receives, samples, stores, transfers, and issues fuel through pipelines and tank trucks
• Operates and maintains a high pressure LN2/GN2 conversion facility, distribution system and equipment
• Assigns overtime as required in the absence of the Terminal Manager
• Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
• Participates in functional specific safety training
• Performs other duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) operations, commercial bulk fuel handling, or military fuels logistics
• Graduate of the AF Fuels Apprentice Course J3ABR2F03100AB or sister service equivalent
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to comprehend technical orders, safety directives, and emergency procedures in a high-hazard fuel storage or testing environment
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and authorized user access to the AEDC local area network
• U.S. Citizenship required (federal government contract compliance and access to secure federal databases/networks on Arnold AFB)

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Experience working on a government contract

Pay

Hourly rate: $41.89 – $46.54 per hour (Grade A24) at Arnold Air Force Base, TN.
