Ft. Worth Area Licensed Residential Service Electrician
Job Description
Licensed Electricians diagnose and repair residential and light commercial electrical applications in accordance with the State of Texas Building Codes. They diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Licensed Electricians inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with all electrical codes. They test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, moving, and lifting heavy objects, and crawling through small spaces such as attics.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Master, Journeyman or Wireman License with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation
- One year minimum of residential electrical experience required
Physical And Mental Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move items of 75 pounds and/or more on regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crawl and stoop on a frequent basis for extended periods
- Must be able to work in cramped or high places such as attics, ladders and tunnels
- Must be able to carry heavy items up and down stairs
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, rain, snow or sleet
- Must have mental skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and a technical vocabulary to understand direction and adhere to established procedures
- Must be willing to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service complaints
- Must be able to complete a Job Physical Assessment
