About the role

ADUSA Transportation is the transportation company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing transportation services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. ADUSA Transportation delivers fresh and nonperishable products to local brand stores and supports the sustainability of the supply chain by returning recyclable items to recycling centers for processing. Our team supports the supply chain network evolution to become a fully integrated self-distribution model, serving leading omnichannel grocery brands: Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop.

Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers into appropriate dock doors for loading and unloading of grocery, perishables, and salvage in a timely and efficient manner.
• Move trailers into dock doors for unloading salvage product returning from retail stores.
• Move trailers as directed by YMS to any other locations (where applicable).
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in accuracy, safety, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate temperature logs for all running reefers on the yard.
• Maintain a running list of all common carrier trailers moved into doors during shifts.
• Complete yard audits within YMS using handheld computers (where applicable).

Requirements

• Some facilities may require a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Some facilities may require you to be at least 21 years of age.
• Some facilities may require a clean driving record with 3 years (or 300,000 miles) of experience.
• Must be able to meet expected work standards as established accurately and safely.
• Must be able to work the needed schedule to perform assigned duties.
• Familiarity or experience in a distribution environment.
• Ability to pass D.O.T. physical and drug screen at facilities where a CDL is a requirement.
• Ability to work in a -5°F to 90+°F environment (temperature varies within each department) for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent driving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and complete required record-keeping functions.
• Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
