FT Special Education Paraeducators and Personal Care Assistants

About the role

The Manheim Central School District seeks dedicated paraeducators to support students with special needs in their classrooms. This role involves collaborating with teachers to ensure that students meet their academic, behavioral, and job skill goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Support students in achieving their academic goals
• Provide behavioral guidance and interventions
• Help students develop job-related skills
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement IEPs
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• CPR Certification
• CPI Certification
• Associate degree or at least 48 hours of post-secondary credits (preferred)
• PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate (or willingness to complete within three months)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in special education settings
• Knowledge of assistive technology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
