About the Role

Food Lion has been providing an easy, fresh, and affordable shopping experience to the communities we serve since 1957. Today, our 82,000 associates serve more than 10 million customers a week across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states. This role ensures the proper receiving of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures, maintaining standards, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service.
• Protect company assets through proper and accurate receipt and return of DSD products.
• Demonstrate and execute proper vendor receiving policies established by Food Lion.
• Work with vendors to resolve errors, policy violations, or excessive inventory.
• Ensure timely promotions by all vendors in collaboration with the Assistant Store Manager.
• Verify the accuracy of DSD plan-o-grams.
• Account for daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer, and wine invoices, and properly file them.
• Check EDI invoices to ensure no outstanding invoices.
• Handle all reclaim and damages.
• Stock and rotate cigarette cartons, understanding and using company tools like ACIS and CAO.
• Maintain adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Report all associate and customer accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform and adhere to the dress code.
• Successfully complete required training courses.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions.
• Ability to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.

Physical Requirements

• Use computers and communication systems required for job functions.
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Pull or push up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand 100% of the time, frequently walking short distances.
• Handle substances associated with cleaning, packaging, fresh produce, and household cleaners.
• Frequently handle currency and operate equipment like cash registers, scanners, and computers.
• Reach and grasp at waist level frequently; occasionally above shoulder or below waist level.
• Tolerate extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Have sufficient visual ability to check IDs, checks, invoices, and other documents.
