Essential Functions
- Serve as the location’s primary inventory expert, monitoring and reviewing all inventory movement into and out of the facility.
- Analyze shrink data to identify trends, problem areas, and opportunities to improve loss prevention awareness and operational performance.
- Identify procedural deficiencies and communicate policy, compliance, and process improvement opportunities to Store Management.
- Conduct regular physical inventory checks and cycle counts across all departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Research, document, and report inventory variances and major discrepancies to management and Purchasing teams.
- Review and reconcile negative inventory counts to ensure accurate product availability.
- Monitor out-of-stock reports and partner with Store Management and Purchasing to improve in-stock conditions.
- Receive and process all direct shipments, ensuring all receipts are accurately entered into inventory systems.
- Inspect incoming product for damages, expiration dates, and shipment discrepancies.
- Process inventory adjustments including count corrections, expired product, buybacks, and other inventory transactions.
- Verify and post transfers between locations accurately and timely.
- Participate as a key contributor in annual physical inventory activities.
Other Duties
- Assist with price changes, remodels, ad changes, etc., in the service of customers as required.
Job Requirements
- Required Minimum age of 18 years.
- Advanced understanding of retail operations with 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Farm & Home products and merchandise is preferred.
- Knowledge of inventory management and point of sale (POS) systems preferred.
- Ability to learn how to use the company’s ERP system (as needed).
- Knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional communication and people skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with groups of individuals as well as independently.
- Contribute to a positive working environment.
- Ability to operate computers and other commonly used retail equipment.
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
Physical Demands

- This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
