FT Deli Bakery Sales Manager (H)

About the role

Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store, and throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates
• Daily management of labor (i.e. expected live) and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Food Lion’s Brand Strategy and Culture
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Role model outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge of department products to meet or exceed customers' expectations
• Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies, and equipment
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems
• Utilize the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS)
• Ensure department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation are consistently maintained
• Create Deli Bakery HMS schedules to provide extraordinary customer service at all times, on an every-other-week basis
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise comply with policies and guidelines
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent associate or customer accidents
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
• Record and report all associate and customer accidents per established Food Lion procedures
• Monitor shrink, ensuring inventory accountability; coach associates to recognize and prevent losses
• Ensure all advertising and sales promotion materials applicable to the Deli Bakery HMS are properly utilized
• Maintain security standards
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times; comply with company dress code and personal appearance guidelines
• Complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses
• Meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Ability to lead and manage a team
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment; accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring it

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions
• Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack
• Bend and lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. on occasion
• Pull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasion
• Stand 100% of the time with frequent short-distance walking
• Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials, and household cleaners
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally above shoulder or below waist level
• Meet established volume activity standards for the position
• Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
• Sufficient visual ability to check invoices and other written documents
