FSUS Paraprofessional - K-5 (Full-time, OPS)

Responsibilities
- Aid the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts introduced by the teacher.
- Support students with special needs by implementing IEP accommodations and modifications as directed.
- Assist with classroom management by monitoring student behavior and promoting a safe and respectful environment.
- Help with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom organization.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and school events.
- Provide clerical support such as photocopying, filing, and data entry as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and respond flexibly to changing needs
- Patience, compassion, and a commitment to supporting student learning and well-being
Preferred Qualifications
- An associate or bachelor’s degree, two years of college (60 credit hours), or successful completion of a state-approved paraprofessional assessment
