Western State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), seeks a Food Service Technician II Cook for its full-time position.
About the role
Ensure work in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Virginia Department of Health. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Read recipes and follow recipe directions. Practice proper food handling techniques and maintain safe temperatures on all food items worked with. Chill cooked recipe items to appropriate safe temperature within appropriate timeframe and document all temperatures on appropriate HACCP log sheets. Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment and work surfaces and store all cleaning materials in designated locations; and assist with tray assembly and/or tray delivery as required.
