FSQRI Specialist
About The Role
The FSQR Specialist is an integral member of the Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory team. This role contributes to the development, implementation, and improvement of the FSQR programs utilized across Scoular. This individual, in conjunction with the Senior FSQR Specialist and FSQR Manager, will provide guidance and expertise to internal business units and external partners to manage expectations and ensure conformance to FSQR programs. This position will support regulatory processes, such as audits, inspections, license renewals, and/or registrations. This position will assist in evaluating and determining approval of suppliers.
The FSQR Specialist plays an integral role in creating an environment of high performance and continuous improvement. Read, evaluate, and apply FSQR programs. Conduct development, implementation, and improvement activities associated with food safety, quality, and regulatory systems. Understand and execute good documentation practices. Review and ensure compliance on documents and certificates pertaining to Scoular business.
Evaluate and resolve internal inquiries related to Scoular’s food safety, quality, and regulatory programs. This may be in the form of providing technical expertise, answering questions, or providing documentation.
Provide supporting documents related to food safety, quality, and regulatory programs to customers to support their product qualification processes.
Conduct compliance reviews and desk audits of suppliers to ensure adherence to internal, customer, and regulatory compliance. This may include review of supplier documentation and processes. Complete and file internal supplier records as required.
Investigate regulatory updates and identify steps to attain compliance. Support qualification process, as applicable.
Provide training to new and current employees. Work cross functionally to provide regular updates on current and future FSQR changes.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in science or business-related field.
- 3 years food safety, quality, or regulatory experience.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international regulations.
- Working knowledge of international transportation and export procedures.
- Understanding of HACCP and GFSI benchmarked schemes such as SQF and BRC.
- Working knowledge of quality management tools such as root cause investigation, customer complaint management, and data analysis.
- Proven ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Ability to write reports, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team oriented leadership skills.
Preferred
- 3-5 years food safety, quality, regulatory, or business-related experience.
- Possess certifications such as HACCP, SQF, and PCQI.
- Understanding of quality management tools, continuous improvement tools, and project management techniques and processes.
- Experienced in FDA and USDA food safety regulatory requirements.
- Experienced in international transportation and export procedures.
- A thorough understanding of GFSI benchmarked schemes such as SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000.
- Experience in conducting audits, both internally and externally.
