About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Quality System Manager to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Project management with defined goals and timely deadlines to design, enhance, and execute quality control processes monitoring all stages of food production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce quality assurance and quality control protocols.
- Conduct ongoing audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze data and trends to identify potential issues and proively implement corrective actions.
- Implement, manage, and track effectiveness of an integrated program, including systems, standards, procedures, measures, and tools to assure food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements for food products and operations.
- Review effectiveness of current documentation practices related to quality processes, including standard operating procedures, protocols, and reports.
- Develop necessary training curriculum to enhance monitoring and oversight while ensuring uniform interpretation and application of standards and quality control procedures.
- Interface and confer with vendors, equipment manufacturers, and customers during audits and inspections.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Program Review Areas: Product Trace Response, Lyco Button Removal, Allergen Management Adherence.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Quality Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the food industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on process optimization and project management.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools for data analysis and documentation management.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires:
- Standing in cold temperatures (38 degrees) for seven or more hours a day.
- Handling cold, wet, and frozen product throughout the day.
- Visually identifying and evaluating product.
- Occasionally sitting for extended periods.
