About the role
The Frozen Buyer plays a crucial role in the Plum Market Frozen Foods department. This position is responsible for purchasing, inventory management, and merchandising to ensure the department meets sales goals, purchase budgets, and margin targets.
Responsibilities
- Purchase and maintain inventory for the Frozen Foods department, ensuring optimal stock levels and proper rotation.
- Maintain pricing accuracy, product signage, and merchandising for all frozen sections.
- Execute promotional plans, seasonal resets, and product launches with consistency and accuracy.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate deliveries, resolving issues as needed.
- Communicate product knowledge and updates to Team Members and Leadership.
- Fulfill Customer special orders and respond to requests with professionalism.
- Follow all health, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Uphold Plum Market standards for Customer Service, operational excellence, and department presentation.
Requirements
- 6+ months experience in retail grocery, buying, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of frozen, dairy, and dry grocery categories.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps and the ability to adapt and learn new software solutions.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
