Frozen Food Supervisor
Position Summary
The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the frozen department, ensuring product quality, proper inventory levels, and strong merchandising execution. This role supports sales growth, minimizes shrink, and ensures a clean, fully stocked, and well-organized department while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee stocking, rotation, and replenishment of all frozen products
Maintain proper freezer temperatures to protect product integrity
Monitor frozen cases for cleanliness, organization, and functionality
Execute company planograms, promotions, and seasonal merchandising displays
Deliver friendly, efficient service and assist customers with product needs
Provide product knowledge and recommendations when appropriate
Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
Support ordering and inventory management to maintain strong in-stock conditions
Identify and minimize shrink by managing damaged, expired, or thawed merchandise
Assist with inventory counts and accuracy processes
Supervise and support frozen department associates
Delegate tasks and monitor completion to ensure productivity goals are met
Aid in training and coaching team members on standards and expectations
Promote a positive, accountable, and team-focused work environment
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing frozen department
Ensure all shelves and freezers are fully stocked, faced, and properly signed
Verify pricing accuracy and signage compliance
Support cross-merchandising opportunities with adjacent departments
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Maintain safe working conditions, especially in freezer environments
Comply with company policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
One to two years of grocery or frozen department experience is preferred
Prior supervisory experience is a plus
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills are essential
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is required
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in freezing temperatures for extended periods
Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 40–50 lbs
Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
