Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Achieve and exceed sales and profit goals.
- Maintain quality assurance standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service following the Customer 1st strategy.
- Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
- Recommend frozen food items to customers.
- Check product quality and take appropriate action.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Stay current with store advertisements.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
- Review and maintain temperature logs.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures.
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
- Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity.
- Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Requirements
- Minimum ability to handle stressful situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Retail experience preferred.
- Desired second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
