About the role

The Assistant Dairy/Frozen Food Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Grocery Manager and/or Assistant Grocery Manager (3rd Man) for the successful operation of the Dairy & Frozen Food and overall Grocery Department. It is essential that you present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

• Stock, rotate, and dress grocery/dairy shelves
• Maintain and organize all back stock
• Maintain grocery sales area, shelves, floors, and back room area to ensure they are neat and sanitary
• Maintain daily specials and replenish them on the shelves
• Verify products and their correct shelf label and/or sign while maintaining proper product alignment
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
• Ensure attendance at your job as it is essential to the overall function of your department
• Assist department manager and team members in achieving a favorable customer experience and team member interest
• Work with Grocery Supervisor and Store Manager regarding merchandising, planning, scheduling, sales trends, potential problems, and potential solutions

Requirements

• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
• No minimum educational requirement needed
• Must be able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
• Must be able to move and/or lift 75 pounds
• While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear
