Frontend Software Engineer

About the role

Pan Dimensional is seeking a DevOps engineer to join our team. You will work with a talented group of professionals making a difference in the field of data and AI.

Responsibilities

• Designing, automating, implementing and supporting infrastructure and processes around the delivery of our software in a continuous and secure manner.
• Helping as a member of the overall engineering team to deliver software on time.
• Being a point-expert on certain technologies, but also cross-training other team members to back-fill you when you are not available.
• Being a part of a team providing 24x7 availability in a rotation.

• You are a challenge-driven individual who has experience across software development, applications, and infrastructure.

• You demonstrate an ability to adapt and learn new technologies.
• You have an understanding of application stacks and how modern applications are structured, built and deployed using continuous delivery processes, with idiomatic container patterns.
• You are willing to help through the transition of a monolithic rails application onto ephemeral containers.
• You are comfortable with Linux infrastructure, databases and web technologies, including virtualization, Docker containers, and cloud providers.
• You are experienced with software development, programming, and scripting, but also like to be involved in how the platform and infrastructure are put together.
• You understand security concerns and authentication models.
• You love to automate everything.
• You recognize what you don’t know, and learn new things quickly.
• You are willing to stand for and explain what you believe in, and you are okay even if it is not what is used.
• You like to participate as a member of a highly collaborative and effective team that provides the technology services for the company.

Qualifications

• People have a wide variety of experience, but capabilities in the following technologies can help:
• Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or other styles)
• AWS, EC2, VPC, S3 and other services
• Linux systems (Redhat/CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine, etc)
• Databases (MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch)
• Scripting & Programming (ruby, python, elixir, javascript/node.js, etc)
• Automation/Orchestration Systems (chef, salt, ansible, puppet, etc)
• Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Circle, CodeShip, etc)
• Networking, Sockets, Traffic Routing, Load Balancing, etc
