About The Role
We are seeking a Mid-senior Frontend Developer to join our dynamic and growing team remotely. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge GIS applications that support critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have over four years of professional experience in React and front-end development, with a strong emphasis on modern JavaScript practices, UI/UX design, and API integration. You will collaborate closely with our front-end lead and cross-functional teams to develop new features, improve existing functionalities, and ensure high performance and usability across our web applications. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of infrastructure planning processes, making a tangible difference in the industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- A Master's degree is considered an advantage
- 4+ years of professional experience with React (v16+)
- Strong proficiency with class components and functional components using hooks
- Ability to design and maintain custom React hooks
- Solid experience with React Context API and useReducer for state management
- Excellent understanding of ES6+ features, including async/await, promises, modules, and destructuring
- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub) and collaboration tools such as Teams and Slack
- Comfortable working in agile development environments
- Experience with Material-UI (MUI v4), Styled Components, and responsive UI design
- Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs using Axios or similar libraries
- Knowledge of GIS/mapping libraries such as OpenLayers and Cesium (desirable)
- Understanding of geospatial concepts and data formats (coordinate systems, projections, GeoJSON, Shapefiles)
- Experience with authentication flows, internationalization frameworks, and build tools
- Knowledge of code-quality tools like ESLint and Prettier
- Optional: D3.js experience for data visualization
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and code organization skills
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; Spanish is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Implement new features and UI enhancements across the application, ensuring a seamless user experience
- Migrate legacy React class components to modern functional components using hooks
- Collaborate with the front-end lead to define architectural decisions and technical strategies
- Refactor complex components to optimize performance, maintainability, and clarity
- Integrate front-end features with Django REST APIs, including handling authentication and error management
- Debug and resolve issues across the codebase, including production defects
- Contribute to comprehensive documentation for features, workflows, and architectural patterns
- Participate actively in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and best practices
- Stay updated with the latest React and front-end development trends and incorporate them into the project
