About the role

TCP Westwood is seeking a Front Office Specialist I to join their team. The position involves coordinating and performing the scheduling of patients, receiving and greeting visitors, answering and handling incoming calls, coordinating the referral process, entering accurate billing information into the system, and transmitting accurate claims.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors upon arrival utilizing SMILES and AIDET principles.
  • Assist patients with check-in/check-out.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Verify accurate patient demographic information with each visit.
  • Enter data into electronic health record and electronic billing system.
  • Answer telephone within three (3) rings and direct calls per practice protocol.
  • Enter hospital charges into electronic billing system with 100% accuracy and within timelines established.
  • Balance payments received daily.
  • Document eligibility in the electronic health record per practice protocol.
  • Identify and document network providers for appropriate referral.
  • Notify provider when no provider in network is available.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation for authorized referrals within two (2) business days.
  • Enter referrals into electronic health record within two (2) business days of receiving request from provider.
  • Assist patients, per practice protocol, in setting appointments for referred services.
  • Afford assistance to patients, per practice protocol, who have emergencies or have self-referred without prior authorization.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One year related experience in an office setting.
  • Demonstrates SMILES and AIDET philosophies to patients, families, and coworkers.
  • Acknowledges the customer.
  • Identifies self.
  • Keeps customers informed by explaining all tasks, processes, and procedures.
  • Thanks, the customer.
  • Adheres to Standards of Behavior.

Schedule

The position requires rotating shifts including 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM and 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM, along with 2 Saturdays per month.
