About the role

Department Description

The Mental Health teams at Samaritan Health Services provide a full range of professional mental health services through a team of highly skilled psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Process patient registration and insurance claims.
  • Manage appointment schedules and confirmations.
  • Handle correspondence and documentation.
  • Support administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience or training with computer applications required.
  • One (1) year experience and/or training in a position of similar responsibility and complexity preferred.
  • Experience or training in medical/insurance terminology preferred.
  • Experience with practice management scheduling systems preferred.
  • Mental Health experience preferred.

  • Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
  • Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
  • Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers.
