Responsibilities

  • Check-in and check-out duties including entering charges, collecting deductibles and coinsurances, posting payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Answering telephones, registering new patients, and making appointments.
  • Multitasking while maintaining high levels of customer service and accuracy.
  • Communicating proactively and assisting patients with questions and requests.

Qualifications

  • One year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent public relations skills.
  • Pleasant, professional demeanor when dealing with the public, even in irate or abusive situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with coworkers, Tanner Medical Group, medical staff, patients, families, and third-party payers.
  • Emotional maturity and sound judgment in making independent decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions, in high-stress situations, and as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in organizing tasks for maximum efficiency and smooth patient flow, proficient use of computer equipment, reading and writing legibly with spelling accuracy, organizing, analyzing, and prioritizing work, professional appearance, attention to detail, and the ability to switch-task.
  • Initiative and drive to complete projects from start to finish.
