We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to design, develop, and support high-performance Front Office trading applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development, financial markets, trading systems, and low-latency application development while working closely with Front Office traders, quantitative analysts, business users, and technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python applications supporting Front Office trading platforms.
- Develop and enhance trading applications, pricing engines, market data services, and order management systems (OMS).
- Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, business analysts, and technology teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
- Build APIs, microservices, and backend services for real-time trading and market data processing.
- Optimize application performance for low-latency trading environments.
- Integrate applications with market data providers, trading platforms, and financial messaging systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support for Front Office applications.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and release activities.
- Develop automated unit tests and support CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Ensure code quality, scalability, security, and compliance with enterprise development standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional Python development experience.
- Strong expertise in Python programming and object-oriented design.
- Experience building REST APIs using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Strong knowledge of multithreading, multiprocessing, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or MQ.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Domain Experience
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets and Front Office Trading.
- Experience supporting trading desks, electronic trading platforms, or market data systems.
- Knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivative products including:
- Swaps
- Caps & Floors
- Swaptions
- Bonds
- Experience working with real-time market data and trading workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in investment banking or capital markets.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
- Experience with financial messaging protocols or trading APIs is a plus.
