Responsibilities
- Lead and direct FOH operations during assigned shifts
- Act as the primary floor leader during service
- Maintain smooth guest flow and table turns
- Monitor pacing of service between FOH and BOH
- Make real-time operational decisions during busy periods
- Serve as the escalation point for servers and hosts
- Greet and interact with guests as needed
- Resolve guest complaints or service issues promptly
- Handle guest recovery situations professionally
- Monitor dining room atmosphere and hospitality standards
- Aid in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards in guest-facing areas
- Conduct or assist with pre-shift meetings
- Assign server sections, side work, and support duties
- Direct hosts on seating strategy and reservation flow
- Monitor staff performance during shifts
- Coach employees in real time on service standards
- Aid in training and onboarding of new FOH staff
- Reinforce company policies and procedures
- Help maintain morale and professionalism during service
- Oversee reservation pacing and waitlists
- Cook up table assignments and large party accommodations
- Balance server sections and rotation fairness
- Monitor turn times and seating efficiency
- Adjust floor plans based on operational needs
- Ensure proper opening procedures are completed
- Verify dining room/bar readiness before service
- Oversee accurate completion of closing side work
- Confirm end-of-night reports are completed properly
- Secure restaurant/bar areas as assigned
- Monitor bar service speed and presentation
- Ensure alcohol service compliance
- Help monitor inventory levels for: CO2 syrups, garnishes, beer/wine/liquor, glassware
- Communicate low inventory or operational issues to management
- Jump into service roles as needed during volume periods
- Run food bussing tables, seat guests, expo support, assist bartenders
- Communicate operational issues to managers
- Aid in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Aid in incident documentation if needed
- Review time punches for shift accuracy
- Approve breaks
- Document attendance/tardiness issues
- Aid in shift notes or manager logs
- Participate in inventory counts
- Track labor during shifts
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year of experience in front of house operations preferred. Must have strong communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is helpful.
