Front END Lead Trainee
This role is vital in building loyalty, improving guest throughput, and ensuring accurate capture of all sales on all lanes by providing consistent presence and leadership of the Front End. The Lead will ensure the front end runs efficiently, safely, and securely to maximize Team Member and guest satisfaction. This position supports the Front End Leader and may include other tasks as assigned. Annual certification required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain consistent coverage of all Self Checkout activities to ensure accurate sales capture while providing unparalleled guest service in a safe environment.
- Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout while ensuring guest needs are met.
- Open additional checkout options and request assistance as needed.
- Assist cashiers as needed (overrides, questions, etc.).
- Create and manage daily schedules and control sheets for maximum efficiency and program compliance.
- Dictate the break/lunch plan while maintaining Front End coverage.
- Monitor cash control procedures as needed.
- Assist the Front End Leader with auxiliary Front End lines of business (gift cards, candy, etc.).
- Take ownership of the Front End when the Front-End Leader is not on duty and act as the point person.
- Ensure all compliance activities are completed daily and take ownership of specific compliance topics (AML, scale/PIN pad checks, WIC).
- Order Front End supplies while being cost-conscious.
- Train and coach Front End Team Members on efficiencies, best practices, Service Culture, and loss prevention tactics using tools such as the Cashier Coach Pad.
- Support the Front End Leader with special projects or “champion” assignments.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent (desired).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- At least 21 years of age.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is $15.00–$15.125 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location.
