About the role

A Day In The Life As a Front‑End Team Member is centered around creating a smooth and positive checkout experience for customers. You are often the final stop before customers head home, helping complete their purchase accurately while keeping interactions friendly and efficient. The role also involves keeping the front end organized, clean, and running consistently throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Scanning items and ensuring accurate pricing.
• Bagging groceries and assisting customers with their purchases.
• Answering customer questions and providing friendly service.
• Handling transactions, including cash, card, and digital payments.
• Collecting carts, restocking supplies, and maintaining the checkout area.
• Balancing registers and completing end‑of‑shift paperwork.
• Adapting to changing priorities and a steady flow of customers.

Qualifications

• Friendly, clear communication during checkout and customer assistance.
• Accurate transaction handling (cash, card, digital).
• Strong attention to detail in scanning, pricing, and order completion.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and change making.
• Organization and time‑management abilities to manage multiple tasks.
• Store support awareness: bagging, cart retrieval, stocking, and front‑end upkeep.
• Problem awareness: recognizing pricing, transaction, or service issues.
• Operational awareness: following company policies and checkout procedures.
• Adaptability to shifting tasks and customer flow.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb., working indoors and outdoors as needed.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on local/state requirements).
• Completion of company cashier or front‑end training upon hire.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required.
