The opportunity: we are seeking a Front-End Developer - React to be part of a team utilizing cutting-edge and unique technology in the development of high-impact web applications that save soldiers’ lives. You will architect scalable frontend solutions, mentor teammates, and integrate complex mapping and data-driven interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design and maintain scalable React application architectures using Redux and RTK Query for complex state management.
  • Aid in design and deliver AI-embedded UI components and modular widget frameworks, leveraging AI for feature enhancement and engineering efficiency.
  • Develop and optimize high-performance location-based experiences using LeafletJS APIs or similar mapping SDKs.
  • Assist in the integration and optimization of complex RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless front-to-back data flow.
  • Apply solid knowledge of Material UI, CSS3, and responsive design patterns.
  • Ensure quality and champion automated testing using tools like Jest or Cypress.
  • Provide guidance to the development team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience with a heavy focus on React and Redux in production environments.
  • 3+ years of TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive design principles.
  • Strong expertise in designing and consuming APIs, with Node.js experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks like Jest or React Testing Library.
  • Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days per week onsite at our Austin, TX offices.
  • Willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance; current and active TS/SCI preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience customizing and integrating 2D & 3D mapping platforms (e.g., Leaflet, Cesium, Google Maps) within React applications.
  • Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering (SSR) and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries like D3.js for complex map overlays.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment or leading cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setting.
  • Understanding of Web Accessibility (A11y) standards.

Pay

Proposed salary range for this position is $76,000 – $155,700 USD, influenced by factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, skills, and certifications.

Schedule

  • Full-time, hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week onsite in Austin, TX.
  • Up to 10% continental US travel.
