About the Role
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the Customer 1st Manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitoring quality assurance standards, and directing all functions, duties, and activities for the Front-end department. Support day-to-day operations and assist in executing best practices and standards. In the absence of the Store Manager, Co-Manager, and Customer 1st Manager, accept full responsibility for the operation of the entire store. Responsibilities
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and respond to questions or make product suggestions.
- Assist with monitoring and controlling supply expenses for the department.
- Manage cash control, transfers of money to/from registers and store safes, sales, cash items, and store records.
- Manage scheduling of Front-end associates to ensure adequate department coverage.
- Implement department action plans to achieve desired results.
- Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork.
- Display a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure all Key Retailing standards and initiatives are maintained at all times.
- Perform effective Prime Time Store Walks for both Fresh and Non-Perishable Departments.
- Maintain in-stock conditions using the Computer Assisted Ordering system and replenish fast-moving items as business dictates.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of store financials, including the Store Operating Statement, Key Card, and concepts of Gross Profit, Cost, Retail, and basic math.
- Make sound decisions in the store's best financial interests under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate personnel of needed repairs.
- Report all safety risks, issues, accidents, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Management experience.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Retail or customer service experience.
