Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival, introduce yourself, and welcome new patients.
- Inform patients of any delays in clinic/wait times.
- Provide patient with the intake tablet and instructions on how to use the tablet.
- Aid patients having difficulty using the tablet.
- Ensure the patients have completed all required intake information.
- Obtain and verify the patients photo identification and insurance card(s) match the information in the patients Athena account.
- Scan any new insurances insurance cards and email Benefit Department with any changes.
- Verify a valid authorization is present in the patients account in Athena.
- Ensure the patients insurance benefits have been verified within the past 90 days.
- Collect all co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding patient balances.
- Inform patients of the credit card on file process and obtain signed agreements.
- Begin check in process in Athena.
- Print any financial agreements or advanced beneficiary notices and obtain patients signature.
- Upload any outside patients imaging cds into Medview PACs system.
- Prepare all paperwork for the next day's clinic.
- Schedule patients follow up appointments.
- Complete end of day batches.
- Process any required disability form payments.
- Scan daily batches in Z drive and forward any documents for scanning to Patient Records.
- Ensure clinics run smoothly by informing Zone Lead or Supervisor of any problems or issues.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2 years experience in a medical environment
- Intermediate data entry skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must be organized and able to multitask
Qualifications
- 2 years experience in OrthoAthena EMR experience
- Spanish Bi-Lingual (a plus)
