Responsibilities
- Meets and greets patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer telephones, schedule appointments and direct calls appropriately
- Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information and all other required forms for accuracy and completeness; enters patient registration information into the EMR (Electronic Medical Records) accurately
- Enter the obtained information into the practice management system either manually or scanned
- Collect and process patient copays and remaining patient balances according to WAGI policies
- Review schedules for accuracy and efficiency and notify the Lead Front Desk Coordinator or Clinic Manager if discrepancy
- Schedule follow up appointments, diagnostic testing, procedures, and referrals to specialists
- Explain procedure preps and all details pertaining to the scheduled procedure
- Process mail
- Maintain inventory of office supplies
- Keep reception area neat and clean
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting, with a working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Experience and/or training in medical office protocol preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Previous gMed experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
- Strong data entry skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and professionalism
Physical Activities and Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting/stationary work and performing administrative duties including the use of computers and phones
- Frequent walking and standing to assist patients and perform duties throughout the clinic
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach, occasionally
- Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed, frequently lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Occasional local travel may be required on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.

Pay
This is an hourly position with an anticipated compensation range of $20.00 - $24.00 per hour. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
