Program Description
Geffner House is a 307-unit supportive SRO that provides permanent housing for individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, some who are recovering from drug and/or alcohol addictions, and some who are living with HIV/AIDS. The tenants are offered a comprehensive array of on-site services.
Overall Responsibilities
- Directs tenants and visiting officials to the appropriate offices.
- Maintains a clear and unobstructed Building Lobby and 2nd floor area as tenants and their guests enter and leave the building.
- Maintains the Visitor’s Log by ensuring that all visitors are signed in as required.
- Answers telephone calls, referring callers to appropriate staff; takes messages as necessary.
- Maintains and completes other Logs such as the Incident report Log, Delivery Log, Fire Safety Log, and the Tenant Roster.
- Provides crisis intervention in an emergency and contacts appropriate staff, providing any assistance that is necessary.
- Reports any unusual tenant behavior, such as apparent intoxication or any bizarre behavior, to the clinical staff.
- Prepares and submits reports as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of experience working for a government or non-profit agency or organization providing services to individuals who are either mentally ill or have substance addictions.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients, good communication skills.
