Front Desk Agent (flexible)

About the role

As a Front Desk Agent at Le Méridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center, you will greet and register guests, check guests out, and ensure outstanding guest service and financial profitability. You’ll work in a chic, sophisticated environment adjacent to Oakbrook Center, with easy access to Chicago attractions like Drury Lane Theatre and Elmhurst Art Museum.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and complete the registration process, including inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirming guest details, selecting rooms, coding electronic keys, and assisting with check-out.
• Ensure rooms and services are correctly accounted for using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit/debit cards, converting foreign currency, and managing gift certificates.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hotel information, including room categories, rates, packages, promotions, local area attractions, and general product knowledge to answer guest questions.
• Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and maximize room occupancy.
• Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner, resolving issues and negotiating solutions for guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Front Desk Agent in a hotel or high-volume customer service industry.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
• Excellent computer skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Hilton brand experience is a plus.
