About the role

The Wurzak Hotel Group is seeking a Front Desk Agent / Guest Service Representative to manage all aspects of guest accommodation at the Dalmar & Element hotels in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome new guests and issue room keys
  • Manage online and phone reservations
  • Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
  • Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities
  • Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees
  • Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
  • Operate telephone equipment by accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wakeup calls, and paging guests
  • Contribute and maintain established information and communications sources
  • Promptly respond to guest requests and escalate guest concerns or inquiries to the appropriate leader or department
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments
  • May control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, or similar role
  • Experience with hotel reservations software, Lightspeed & EMPOWER GXP
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
