About the role
The Welding Lecturer position at Alfred State College’s Northland Workforce Training Center in Buffalo, NY, is expected to commence in August 2026. The successful candidate will deliver well-prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities aligned with the course syllabus and school policies.
Responsibilities
- Present well-prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies.
- Have knowledge in all welding processes, blueprint reading, and welders calculations.
- Perform in both a lecture and laboratory format. Experience with pipe welding or structural steel is preferred.
- CWE/CWI certification preferred or willing to acquire.
- Provide timely information and feedback on student academic progress through quizzes, tests, homework, projects, and maintain accurate records of student academic and attendance performance.
- Promote students' development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Requirements
- Preference given to applicants with an Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree along with 5 years of hands-on Welding Technology employment OR 7 years minimum employment in Welding Technology.
