Performance Responsibilities
- Promotes all sports in the school and community.
- Affords assistance to the athletic director and principal in planning the athletic program.
- Schedules, organizes, and supervises all practices.
- Supervises, organizes, coordinates, and supports assistant coaches.
- Makes staff recommendations to the principal and athletic director.
- Recommends equipment to be purchased to the athletic director.
- Maintains an inventory of all equipment.
- Selects squad members, provides team discipline, morale, leadership, and supervision during contests.
- Assumes responsibility for teaching individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy, and rules and regulations of the game.
- Ensures compliance with eligibility requirements, insurance coverage, and parental consent.
- Keeps informed of the rules and regulations as established by the director of athletics.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Physical Demands
- The work is performed while standing or walking.
- The ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing is required.
- The use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations is required.
- The ability to bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull light weights is required.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of sixty-four (64) semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university.
- Kentucky coaches education program certification.
- Must be 21 years of age.
