French Instructor (Adjunct Faculty)

About the role

The University of La Verne is a private not-for-profit university founded in 1891 located in La Verne, California. The Department of Modern Languages seeks a part-time instructor of French to begin August 17, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach an elementary French language course each semester (French 100 – Fall 2026; French 101 – Spring 2027), either as regularly scheduled classes or directed studies.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in French or a closely related Humanities discipline is required.
• Native or near-native fluency in French and English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• College-level teaching experience and familiarity with current communicative, proficiency and/or task-based methodologies are highly desirable.
• Candidates should be able to provide evidence of strong teaching skills.
