Are you energized by fast-paced environments, constant problem-solving, and keeping operations running smoothly under pressure? We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Freight Coordinator to join a high-growth organization where logistics is at the center of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up and monitor freight shipments from pickup through final delivery.
  • Communicate daily with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth transportation operations.
  • Schedule shipments and ensure accurate routing, tracking, and execution.
  • Negotiate freight rates while balancing cost, service levels, reliability, and delivery requirements.
  • Proactively track shipments and address delays, missed appointments, routing issues, and service disruptions.
  • Provide timely shipment updates and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, bills of lading, invoices, carrier confirmations, and logistics documentation.
  • Utilize transportation management systems, Excel, and other business tools to support shipment visibility and reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, accounting, sales, warehouse teams, and transportation partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen carrier performance.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as the company continues to scale.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, carrier operations, dispatch, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience managing high shipment volume in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with carriers, vendors, customers, and internal teams.
  • Experience negotiating freight rates or service agreements is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail with transportation documentation and system updates.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with TMS, WMS, ERP, SAP, Epicor, or similar logistics systems is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt quickly as priorities and shipment requirements change throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

$31-$36+/hour ($64,000-$75,000+ annually).
