Key Responsibilities
- Cook up and schedule shipments to guarantee timely delivery of products.
- Collaborate with carriers to negotiate rates and manage contracts.
- Track and monitor shipments, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast shipping needs and plan accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and carrier performance.
- Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the logistics industry.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints related to freight operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Required Skills And Abilities: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with vendors, clients, and team members; proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to analyze data and generate reports to improve freight operations and cost efficiency; detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations; problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues related to freight delays or discrepancies; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
